Part A - "What is my Culture?"  

Introduction to the assignment:  

"if you can understand the forces which shaped men's lives then you can better understand those men." Val Greenwood This interpretation of family history fits squarely with the view that all family history is contextual, i.e., it cannot be viewed in isolation or separated from its historical framework. At its root, genealogy satisfies basic human curiosity. It summarizes the questions of the past, the present and a glimpse of what will shape the future

Tasks : 

Individually, you are to create a 90-second video highlighting the culture you grew up with. It should reflect the significant importance of the culture towards your family, how it affects your well-being and most importantly how it shapes you as the individual you are now. *The culture that you highlight in the video can include a particular event, custom or belief that you and your family practice and is significant to the family. You can include images/ visuals and clipping from videos related to the highlighted culture. Include keywords and short description in the video to support the content. The video should be creative, on-point and have a clear storyline to highlight the culture. 

 Submission requirements: 

1. The 90-second video will be uploaded in your group e-portfolio link 
2. Video needs to be clear, well documented and highlight your selected culture. 
3. Video needs to be well presented; have a proper flow and structure within the timeframe given. 
4. Clarity in the video outcome is important; choose your material wisely. 
5. Please include the following in the video: 
-Proper title at the beginning of the video 
-Name, Student ID, Programme, credits and references at the end of the video

Part B 

In a group, we are required to investigate and find relevant information to produce interactive/ infographic poster to show our understanding of the following topics:  
1. social organization 
2. Language
3. Religion
4. Form of government 
5. Economy
6. Custom, Tradition, Folklore 
7. Art/ Architecture 

The interactive/infographic poster should consist of Text (short summary) and Images (Illustration, photo, diagram or chart, etc) that best represent the topic discussed. You are to include examples for each topic to support your understanding and explain how it contributes to a particular culture. 

Submission requirements:

1. Your interactive/infographic poster will be composed in an A1 sized paper 
2. Posters should be done manually-you will need to bring the materials in tutorial class in week 2 
3. Referencing and citation of sources must be included (pasted behind your board) 
1. Please include Program Title, Subject Title, Student Name, ID, Assignment Title and Submission Date at the back of your works.
